About the Project
“Dorothy” is a true story inspired by the real life of a woman who lived through addiction, prostitution, motherhood, and danger — and narrowly escaped becoming a victim of a serial killer.
Set across the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, Dorothy follows a mother trying to protect her children while surviving drugs, poverty, and violence. Told through the eyes of her son and daughter, the series explores how love, fear, and resilience are tested when a family’s life crosses paths with murder — and how those scars echo through generations.
Tone & comps: Monster, Dahmer, Snowfall meets Precious and Moonlight. We will begin with short scenes, trailers, and social media episodes (TikTok, YouTube, Reels) to build audience traction before pitching to Netflix, Hulu, Tubi, and Amazon Prime.

Clovis/Fresno, California, with some travel within the state. Remote editors and social media collaborators are welcome.
